KCB is a community wind orchestra founded in 1984 with deep roots in Montreal’s music scene.
We are dedicated amateurs who share a passion for music making and bringing musical entertainment and joy to audiences. Our members range in age from 14 years old, to 87 years young!
Rehearsals are conducted in English in the West Island of Montreal on Wednesday evenings.

Brent Besner
Brent is a graduate of McGill University and Université de Montréal in clarinet performance. He also holds a degree in arts management from HEC Montréal. His career includes performances with several professional orchestras, including the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. His passion for music is clear in his commitment to excellence and his joyful dedication to his musicians.

Patrick Downs
Patrick was the original conductor of the Kirkland Concert Band beginning in 1984 and served for 39 years. Born in Plattsburgh, New York, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. He has performed with several professional orchestras, including the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.
