Patrick Downs has been the conductor of the Kirkland Concert Band since its inception in 1984.

A native of the U.S. "North Country", born in Plattsburgh, New York, Patrick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, and has been a professional musician since 1972.

He has performed with the Canada Symphony Orchestra, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Kitchener-Waterloo Orchestra and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. He is currently a member of the Millenium Brass and instructs budding musicians at a number of West Island elementary and high schools.
